Dear WOWBOX family, together we are facing an unprecedented situation because of this global coronavirus pandemic. We understand that you may have questions concerning your orders and the safety of our products. The health and safety of our customers and our employees are of utmost importance to us. That is why we are monitoring the situation closely and taking cautious steps forward to insure that we can provide the best service possible.
Due to the new restrictions made by the UPU (Universal Postal Union) setting safety rules on April 1st, all shipped and shipping pending packages may encounter additional delays. Japan Post has also temporarily suspended shipments to certain countries except the following countries:
- Hong Kong
- United Kingdom
If your country is not on the list above we currently aren't able to ship your order (view question #4 for further details) nor take new orders.
Here are some answers to some important questions that you have asked:
1. Is the package from Japan safe?
According to the US Center for Disease Control & Prevention (US CDC), coronaviruses have low survivability. The risk of the virus spreading from products or packages shipped over a period of days/weeks is very low. There is currently no evidence indicating the coronavirus is transmitted via imported goods. 2. Will my order be affected even if the status is 'shipped'?
If you placed an order before March 16th and your status says shipped, it should not be affected. We have processed your order and shipped it with Japan Post. Your box will take longer to arrive, but they have been sent earlier and should not be affected by the UPU (Universal Postal Union) new regulations set on 4/1. Please be aware that delays can also take place during customs and at your local post office.
If your order was placed after March 16th and your status says shipped, your order was sent to Japan Post, but we are waiting for their response to see how long the delay will take. If the delay is longer than expected, Japan Post will ship us back the boxes to our warehouse. Please allow us a few more days to figure out the best solution as we find ways to get you your order. We will keep you updated.
3. Will my order in March be affected since it has not been shipped?
If your order status is not shipped we are currently finding the best solution to get your order to you as safely as possible. We are upgrading your shipping to semi-express at no extra cost to you.
4. What will happen to my payment for this April's box?
If your country falls under the list of countries that UPU (Universal Postal Union) have temporarily restricted shipments, we will pause your subscription for the month of April and extend your subscription as we further monitor events.
If your country isn't under the list of restricted countries, we are upgrading the shipping method to semi-express at an extra cost of $4 USD.
5. Why have the prices increased?
Japan Post is not shipping orders with standard shipping method due to the restricted amount of flights. They are only shipping orders with express shipping, semi-express shipping, and other fast shipping methods. Due to this we will not be able to provide WOWBOX if we keep our shipping method standard. That is why we have increased the pricing and changed our shipping method to fast in order to keep providing everyone with Japanese snacks without any interruptions.
For those who are already subscribed and have a subscription plan with us, from April we will charge an extra $4 USD for shipping per box.
This upcoming May we are planning to add a premium snack box slightly on the higher end. That is when we are considering to transition back to the original pricing and have tracking as the default if the situation allows.
